ya, the reason why i suggested to go to a homeopath, is because that would eliminate the problem of self medicating, but to find the remedies your self will do no harm, but you are not guaranteed that you will hit the problem. The homeopathic remedies that are legal to be retailed with out being given by a homeopath is 30 cc and under, which pretty much avoids any possible problem of proving the remedy (that is where you have taken a high dose of a certain remedy for a significant amount of time, eigther if you didnt need it, or after your symptoms have passed, and you actually develop the symptoms the remedy is designed to fight. That is simply solved by stopping to take the remedy, and all the symptoms will go away....note: i have never proved a remedy, and i have taken some really high dose remedies for a long time, nor have i ever met someone who has. The reason why you have to get a prescription on any remedies above 30 cc is because the FDA wants people to take drugs, and if you can get something totally natural out there that has no side effects and does the job, they will loose money on it, so they cause problems and only let you buy a low dose, so that it wont work as fast, hoping that you will give up on it, and move to a drug.
St johns wort is a natural plant, and is totally harmless to the human body. BUT, like with any supplement you take, you must check for counteractions (just call your local pharmacy, and tell them everything that you are taking). I have personally taken it, on and off, and it is not addictive at all. But it is always best to get a homeopath do make those choices for you.
Interesting note on shielding... When i was feeling really down (almost like depressed), and for some reason my empathetic powers boosted, i had first started getting into psi, and i realized that i had to shield. I had made some basic ones, with no maintenance, which did help a little for the immediate threat, but i wasn't good enough to keep the feeling totally off, so i told my homeopath about it, and she gave me the remedy called phosphorous, which acted as a shield. I thought that it was really cool that you could take something with a designated energy imprint to act as a shield.
For anyone who would like to read up on the book called the secret (one of the best books i have ever read), i have downloaded a pdf of the book, uploaded it to rapidshare, and her is the link for all of you to enjoy ;P
