I believe it could be possible to create a physical shield using a force bubble as big as your body, though it may take a lot of energy and concentration. It may also only be effective against very small solid objects, depending on how good you are at indirect PK.

Well it all depends on how good you are at TK... Take for example Rainsong, she puts TK shields around her car. I don't really know how much protection did that give, but Rainsong is the strongest Psion I know. She made a TK platform stood on it for a few seconds, fell down and broke her ankle . Ah, DA knows better.... Where are you DA! P.S. No offense, but did you come to Psionics through Final Fantasy?

Nah, I just came here because PsiPog was inactive and I needed some questions answered. What do you mean by through FF?

I think he was asking how you became interested in psionics.
I think it is possible, however most of the people I know do not have the skill in TK (/and/ energy manipulation) that would be required to even create a force bubble strong enough to divert a light rain.

No, I became interested through fascination and reports of psychic phenomena. I didn't see FFVIIAC until I started taking psionics lessons.

Confuded, you do know that DA said she would probably not be in attendance for the majority of May?

light precipitation not heavy rain or hail
mist, sleet, or snow.
Is that a little clearer?

Wow. This post takes me back. There were about six of these up when I first got involved in Psipog years ago.
Anyway, Theoretically you can create fairly substantial force bubbles, but it does require a rather unique blend of TK and energy manipulation. I do not yet have any substantial abilities in TK, so I have no personal experience with force bubbles. From the little experience I do have with TK I believe it would take a very substantial amount of energy to sustain.

And Rainsong's car-accident was an emergency 'air bag' of a force bubble. As I received the story it cushioned her and nothing else, though it did save her from more severe injuries. (I have not heard exact reports on what injuries were sustained or prevented.) Also in that instance we have to consider the ‘panic’ reaction effects. People in extreme situations frequently do things they would not be able to do on a normal day to day basis. I do not know if this falls into that category, but I do not know enough of the original situation to discount it as a factor. It is an ‘upper end’ example no matter how you look at it. Even Rainsong does not seem to do such things frequently!
Confuded, I'm not the only reliable one on the site. Looks to me like there have been a great deal of very good conversations, questions, and answers since I left! Which is a relief. I remember the LAST time I left for this long it was scary coming back!

Yes I know DA ;D, but you are the most active member and reply to almost every thread! I am very used to seeing your avatar and the red sign which says, "I will deflate your theories with ye olde pointy stick of logic," in every thread .
