Have you ever tried to make your own shield? I made a portal shield. I imagine a black vortex swirling in front of me. When it is up it captures attacks then u can move it to where you want and it blasts it back. It dosn't require much energy or focusing either.
If you made a shield list them down. ;D

That shield doesn't sound like it's used for defense. It sounds a lot like an attack construct to me. Of course you'd have to be attacked first, but it sounds really "combat-like".
Anyway, I think a lot of us have had talk of making intricately weaved shields. I think a thread like this has already been put up somewhere. Look around in the forums, maybe you'll find it.

*DING DING* You did something wrong considering rules, no attacks in this forum.

They have a point, however. you can discuss the shield, as long as you leave out specific uses of it in an attack. A shield that absorbs an attack and then can re-use the energy is a perfectly fine topic for discussion. I know it's hair splitting, but there are ways to discuss most things without breaking the rules. I have several shields that, as far as I can tell, are of at least mostly unique design including my puzzle box shield, curtain shield, and my solar pannel shields... the list goes on. (Yes I have an article in the works that will cover a great deal of this. I'd just rather not repeat myself too much.) My shields are merged into a single physical location around me, in a functional 'shield matrix', also of my own design, though the concept of merging shields in such a manner is not. ~The Devil's Advocate

I have at least two shields of mine that are unique to me as far as I can tell. One is designed to protect against a specific sig and hide a lot of information and cloak. The other is a telepathy shield that captures and shreds.

With some of my shields, instead of being blunt and directly countering incoming sigs/emotions/energy, I simply redirect it around the sheild, letting it just slide on past. I also tend to encorporate different cloaking threads and such (I mainly use thread shields now-a-days). Though I have been known to through up the ocational bubble or mirror shield when I really need it on the spot. But mainly, I use simple-complex threadshields (which not many people use that I know of.) anyway, if you are good at visualization and concept programing, I highly recommend them.

I use them as well, though at some point you and I need to get together and hash out if we're using the SAME construction method or just similar ones. ~The Devil's Advocate

Er i have a little critcism on your vortex shield Whats if the construct they sent into your vortex was made to explode and stun? Not to try to discuss combat, but just giving you a heads up if you plan to use in combat

There's a date at the top of every single post, right under the title (which is also on every single post.) These also appear on the search.
