So I had a brief thought today about a few things related to psionics and I started to wonder about how people generally say how they aren't sure what Psi is or while they can do it they aren't completely sure how it works. Of course, knowing what something can do is one thing but completely understanding it is another. For instance, if I have a fire and I know that when i stick raw meat into the fire, that the fire will either cook or burn the meat depending on how long I leave it in there. However, that's not all the fire can do. The flames generate heat which adds it's energy to the air around it and the air, now energized by heat will be able to rise as it's now lighter than colder air which has less energy. Knowing this, we often exploit it for use in certain flying devices, hot air balloons specifically.
Now of course fire is something which seems a bit more tangible and has definite properties that any human could easily distinguish with their senses. It requires no training, just friction and combustible matter. So anyone could make a fire and study it long enough to figure out how many different ways it could work, or that placing the food over the fire would actually make more sense then placing it directly inside or beside the flame since most of the heat escapes from the top, and you have much less chance of injury because of burning the stick you used or burning your hand on conductive metal if they used metal instead of a random stick.
Now, lets apply a similar principle to psionics. Look at how psionics works in general, in many cases it's very much a three step process. Intention, Direction, Action Now, while I understand that this is a generalization, it does bear a lot of truth. Now before I continue on with my point, I'm going to break down each one of the steps I just listed so that my theory and that the process itself can be easier to understand.
Intention: How do you start to do anything that you want to consciously do? By intending to do it, focusing and making it absolutely clear what you want to happen. During this step visualization takes place and eventually the psi is getting prepared for action.
Think of it like having a group of people somewhere and they are all going about their own devices. Now suddenly whoever is in charge of the group stands up and starts talking to everyone. What happens then? The group begins to settle down and gives it's attention to the leader so that they can receive their instructions. If you think about it this way, you could also apply common problems that many aspiring psions have when trying to do something. What if the leader does not talk loud enough?
That could be similar to someone not having enough focus or just not having enough intent. No one wants to follow a lazy leader or a leader who can't make up their mind or a leader that starts off giving instructions but gets distracted too often. While in all of these cases the people might start off listening like they are supposed to so that they know what they are doing for the day they will eventually lose respect for the leader and will be less obliged to comply.
Direction: This is when the psi actually moves into action, it moves toward your goal and follows the basic instructions given to it. Now, this is also when programming can happen since while you know what you want to happen the psi just has a general idea based on your initial expectations kinda like when you make a psiball, it's called a ball so generally people expect a round shape from the get-go and that's what they create.
However, while the action is being carried out more specific instructions can be given to essentially micro-manage which gets a far better result than if a simple general action was carried out, kinda how my explaining this process makes it seem far less like a half-baked guess that I just pulled out of my hat than if I just simply left it as it was.
Now lets apply this to our group of people again, lets say they are going to clean a park. they have all their equipment ready and are picking up all the trash they see, however they don't work anymore diligently than that until the leader tells them to do so, stating that there may be garbage hidden in bushes or under benches which prompts the group to check these areas.
Again, this can be applied to someone who has problems in getting significant results. If they don't put enough detail into how they want the end result they will finish up with something less than satisfactory. Also, if the people never cared for the leader in the first place and yet made it this far somehow they aren't even going to work all that much on the initial task much if at all, they will probably slack off and converse at any chance they get and the result would be even less than it was before.
Action: Now the previous two steps are out of the way, you get the action that you wanted and finish with results that depend entirely on how well the first two steps are handled. The psi knows what it's supposed to do and will do so, at this point changes are generally harder to make but can happen with practice. For instance, how many people who are new to Telekinesis can spin the wheel clockwise, then counter-clockwise? Lets apply this to the group again.
They are carrying out the action as told but then the leader suddenly says,"Okay, now lets clean the river. " the people in their group are going to say something similar to "But we only came here to clean the park." Now if they are a skilled leader they would know how to properly handle the situation and if they have shown proper skill already the group would be more likely to move into action.
See? Three steps, or four for those who are thinking I should have included ceasing the action as one of the steps. Now since hopefully that explains enough for one to understand where I'm heading with this. When someone wants to do something they start with a thought, make a "connection" and then perform the action. However, what exactly happens throughout this process? Here is my theory.
Thoughts have frequencies, some have greater frequencies than others. Thoughts can be measured, and as some of us already know, they can be picked up by machines to influence objects that exist inside a virtual world.
So thoughts are a type of wave. Now when we look at waves they generally all have something in common which is the ability to transmit data from one thing to another. Every object has an energy field which could easily work like a receiver. This allows the "connection" that many people describe to take place. The thought waves create a link with the object's energy field and a synchronization takes place which allows the energy of the psion and the object to work on the same frequencies which is influenced by the psion's intention. So it's really like making that object apart of their body only it is operated from a "wireless connection" much like computers use waves to make wireless connections. A good example being the computers that exist in space, also known as satellites. They aren't orbital space-kites, they use waves to transmit data to dishes which are stationed here which feed data into computers on earth.
Once this connection is made between object and psion the psion can issue commands much like they do when they move an arm or a leg. Now while one could argue that if it where so simple, how come we don't need to put such effort into moving our arms or legs and that's because we have lived with them for our entire lives, it's second nature. Of course if you think about it hard enough, you will also consider that babies are not born with the ability to walk, and even the animals that do give birth to babies with walking ability from birth, the newborn does not just get up immediately and start prancing about, they still have to get situated with themselves and adjust to the new conditions just like the psion needs to adjust to using this new connection.
So perhaps there is no "psi" to begin with if you think of it that way. It can be applied to every type of psionic ability. Since thoughts can influence energy fields they can of course cause energy to gather in specific areas and do specific things. If they wish to "connect" to another psion they can send their thoughts to them in the form of telepathic messages. We can create waves of course we can receive them the human brain alone is several times more capable than any artificial storage device or any processor. Then you have the mind which is an amazing and wonderful thing.
So that concludes the basis of my theory. I hope it's as delightful for you to read as it was for me to write.
Thank you all for your time, and have a wonderful day.
