Energy manipulation questions

So one or two years back (when i was a regular of this site), i would frequently make psi balls, and feel the tingly feeling of where it was, and was able to scan it, etc. Nothing impressive, really. But now, when i manipulate energy at all, it stays inside my body. I tried making a psi ball, and i felt a lot of warmth in my hand that it was in, but didn't find anything or feel anything that was actually out of my body. Same thing goes for shields. Sometimes, i would just get a splitting headache in a weird spot, and find that i had a broken shield up. So to fix it, all the energy that i could move around would move to the top of my head, not around my body. Also, when I'm attempting TK (attempting, because i kinda suck at it), i used to have to visualize a connection between myself and the object, now its just a feeling of that object.

So, questions -
#1 - Has anyone else experienced something similar?
#2 - Does anyone have any ideas as to what is happening?

That's interesting, I'm not currently sure what to say about that (welcome back though).

I'll think it over and maybe I'll have something after other people start to post.

Sounds a bit like how I was when I first got started... and like how I detect holes/weakspots in my shielding, though I skipped the psiballs.

So in answer to question 1. Yes, I have experienced similar things. I will tend to get a specific kind of headache when my shields are flawed and letting things through sporadically. This is different from actual overload, though it can overlap overload symptoms (since for me one of the symptoms is another type of headache) which muddies the issue.

One possibility is that you're under mild overload conditions so your energy is rushing to reinforce what some part of your mind believes is the 'trouble spot'. This could also affect your scanning abilities as it's harder to focus and interpret when you're getting to much data. (Again these are largely based on what causes similar symptoms in myself.)

As for the scanning issue, I'd need more information. Over all I could use a little more information to really start figuring out what might be going on with you. For now, that's what's happening when I have similar symptoms. Won't automatically be the same, but it's a good starting point.

Side note: I rarely feel energy flowing from me or from the area around me TO me, the reserves are just there, even though I can manifestly demonstrate constructs outside of me. (At least demonstrate to another psion!)

The 1st 2 parts do help answer my questions, and for the side note, its like i cant create a construct outside of myself, which is how my shields used to be made, along with all my other constructs, so now i'm not sure what it really is. I guess the best way to explain how the psi balls are would be almost like a soap bubble, kinda there and stuck to you. Kinda a weak analogy, because it doesnt fit exactly.

Then again, it could all be overload, i'll try something in the morning, when i'm fresh and my mind is mostly clear, and i'll come back with what happened.

Ok, so i tried what i normally do, and was OK forming a shield. However, the psiball was pretty weak, and very fluid, though it was outside of me.
