Tele (distance) Kinesis (movement)
Psycho (mind) Kinesis (Movement)
They are not actually the same, but similar. Telekinesis is a much mcuh wider term.

Night Hawk: Why do we call physics, Physics? Or Chemistry, Chemistry? Because they are, indeed distinct disciplines. They are related, but they are not the same. Why don't we call Physics 'the science of motion'? In a sense it is, but that isn't ALL it is. We call Empathy, Empathy, because the discipline, or phenomenon has become reasonably well defined, and is distinct from other disciplines such as TK and Telepathy. So is TK different from Empathy and Telepathy.

THERE IS NO CYRO. CYRO is an utterly meaningless term. CRYO means cold. CRYO CRYO. I've said it HOW many times already in this thread. PYRO - a prefix meaning 'fire' www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=pyro-CRYO - NOT CYRO. NOT CYRO. NOT CYRO (have I said this enough that it's actually going to get through?) Is the greek prefix meaning 'freezing'. It one of the roots for Cryogenic. www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=cryogenicTHERE IS NO CYRO. CYRO is the airport designation for Ottowa/Rockcliff Airport! If we have to rehash these arguments again I'm going to hurt someone. On TK vs. PK. Yes, TK is the broader term, but in common usage they are interechangeable, at least until someone starts moving a psiwheel at range without using Psi. I think this topic has been beaten to death. The build-your-own-kinesis thing is getting old. ~The Devil's Advocate

Think of it like this. Making a dollar out of 15 cent is not always good if you know what i mean. Individualizing things that are relatively the same or share the same root could confuse simple minded people (newbies), for the simple fact that when you learn anything totally new to you, you pay attention to every detail and question everything. Thus creating more question then answers, delaying progress time but hey as long as you get it. Look at what it did to race; black, white, asian, indian and etc, even though science and religion believe and know we come from the same thing or source, but we seperate us by color and a few facial features. Even though we our body make-up the same. I hope i didnt babble to mush and please forgive the run-ons.

MOre the problem this was an unneccissary thread resurection. This topic has been beaten to death. There is a stickied moderator post on this topic. This thread was DEAD for over a month. Please take into consideration how long a thread has been dead before you decide to post on it. You did have a valid point, but it's the same point that has been made repeatedly in this thread.
