I've been wondering about this for a while: typically people will give the stance that a construct can perform the majority of actions that one could do directly, provided that the creator of that construct knows how to do the action in question.
My query, how does this apply to Energy Management techniques like charging? Could a construct be used to trigger the technique in a willing person? I say willing because I'm assuming there'd be trouble if the person tried to resist the constructs efforts. I've never been able to come up with an answer to this because while constructs seem to be able to emulate all or almost all actions, charging and other Energy Management techniques area an unsure subject since its always a little ambiguous how they even work.
If the process is triggered through a movement of energy its happy days since a construct could do that easily. But what if the technique is triggered by a special way of focusing the mind? The only way for a construct to trigger the technique then would require heavy use of Telepathic Suggestion or something.
Then there comes the question of whether it's even safe to try something like this. Regardless of how it might work, in any way it's essentially using an external force to try and get the body to perform in a certain way. Kind of like someone attempting to move another person like a doll (very random comparison but it's the best I could come up with), especially if the mover isn't being gentle, while it is possible to do things safely it's equally possible to cause serious injury to the person being moved. I remember an old story my music teacher used to tell about Robert Schumann who permanently damaged his right hand using a machine of his own invention intended to assist in or accelerate his practicing.
As to why this would even be useful I had two possibities in mind, training and augmentation. Training is the more promising: Energy Management techiques are difficult to learn for a lot of people because of the precise changes in focus needed to make the technique in question work succesfully. It could be a great deal of help for an experienced user to trigger the technique in a student so they could at least feel what it's like to get it correct. Augmentation is a little more risky, if it's even possible to use a construct to trigger a technique like charging, it might be possible to use both the direct and the construct process simultaneously to achieve a better effect, while an idea like this fails in most other areas of psionics because of energy consumption and that its just usually better to focus harder directly, this could work for techniques like charging. While they do seem to require some energy, charging techniques don't require much which throws out the energy consumption concern. It's also much more difficult to just "focus harder, " attempting to make a construct would allow the user to possibly get a greater effect by in a way concentrating more at once. Depending on the specific technique there are also more specific concerns that would make a construct a viable idea to try.
The question buried in this mound of text is that this post contains way too many "If's" I know there are several people on this forum that know about or use Energy Management Techniques, so your help in resolving some of those "If's" would be a big help.
