Ok. Here is an interesting question. How is it we are able to locate, scan, and interact with people psionically who we have never met in person, nor know the physical location of. In truth, there are tons of scans and pings and games that go on where the only thing you have to go on is the other person's screen name. I've done it many times... but I'm still not sure ~how~ it is done.
any ideas?

I'm not completely certain either, but most scans require an identity. Even online there is an 'identity' associated with a screen name. In less general terms the signature seems to associate itself with the screen name whether the individual wills it so or no. Just like you can trace an IP address back to the computer that was using that screen name, you can trace this 'identity' through psi back to the individual in a scan.
Now this is not utterly flawless. Especially when I was first learning concious scanning, I tended to get the strongest emotional signal in the right area. I have improved, and seldom 'miss' these days.

I agree with everything you said. It just seems very interesting the way it works out. I've never had much trouble finding people based solely on their screen names. The question is, are you locking onto their sig through the S/N, or is part of your mind instinctively tracing the signal? Or maybe some form of telepathy finding whomever is reading your replies?

Not likely telepathy, since it hasn't happened since I started being able to use that particular skill. It is at least, in part the sig as I can usually trace them with or without the screen name after the first time. I can't guarentee what it is through IMs but on forum it makes more sense for it to be a residual Sig. On IM it's actually very difficult NOT to read the person I'm conversing with.

That is an interesting question. I think people seem to leave an individual feeling/sig associated with their name, what they write etc, that can be picked up on and used as a focus to locate them. I'm not entirely sure of the exact mechanics behind how it works either. Another thing that is interesting is it also seems possible for someone else to set a name or number for a person to be scanned and have other's find that person regardless. I've always wondered how something like that works, does the person who arranges the scan somehow link in that person's sig or imprint their memory of it for others to pick up on perhaps?
I heard a theory about precog and co-ordinates in RV (I think it was in regards to if people are given feedback on a RV target, the chances of that target being successful are greater (I would have to check into that further)) so I guess that could be a possibility as well, although if you don't meet the person, its still a little odd you could find them. Any thoughts? (Sorry if this has rambled a bit).
