Is it possible to create a visible psiball that will launch out of your hand and accelerate through the air like a projectile and physically explode when it collides with a solid object? By the way I already know about construct flaring so there is no need to explain it if there was a way to program a psiball that way.

Theoretically? - Maybe
Realistically? - No Energy requirements would be incredible, beyond the reach of anything that can be reached presently.

What about one that isn't flaring? Would that make any difference?

Thats so DBZ like. Why would you want to do that? Well, I COULD throw a psiball at something but not like a missile or anything. The effect wouldnt even be noticable unless its a person who would feel it. Or unless its a force bubble and it moves the object. Would have to be very light object too unless your amazing at PK.

Actually I got the idea from Final Fantasy VII: advent Children. One of my friends said that Kadaj shoots psi energy out of his left hand as a blue white light that destroys everything it touches. Now that I think of it, it might just be magic.

What about one that isn't flaring? Would that make any difference? It would reduce the energy requirements some, but they'd still be far too high.

I'll be looking at another decade before someone is able to harness such high amounts of energy, aren't I?

Its hard to tell really at the current progress level, not enough data to make any kind of definete timeframe or even proving a conclusive answer on whether its possible.

Aside from show-off factor, the only thing something like that could be used for involves attacking, so we are going to be very careful not to go there. Right? Good.
In regards to amounts of energy: (Caution this is speculative) I think that there are two factors to how effective constructs are, aside from programming that is. There is the amount of energy put in, and the efficiency with which that energy does what it is programmed to do. I've been thinking a lot about energy lately, and wondering about cases of people performing fairly substantial macro PK unconsciously or in religious raptures in history. I'm sure we've all heard the dumbed-down version of Ockham's razor: that the simplest explanation is commonly the correct one. What is more likely: There exist a few rare individuals that can harness such incredibly massive amounts of energy they perform this amazing feats we can never hope to? Or there exist a few rare individuals who stumble across a very efficient way of converting a normal amount of energy into what appears to be an exceptional amount of force. The first assumes that individuals must 1. have a very substantial amount of energy. 2. be able to control it. The second assumes that the individuals subconsciously controlled their energy in a more effective way. It only requires one base assumption. One thing we might want to think about is how efficient we are making our constructs.

I don't really understand why would you like to do that, Sepheiro? For the cool effect? The most is what's going to happen is people going to say "Wow! Cooooool..." OR maybe you like theory like I do .

Cullen, Thank you for your reply. You're the Physicist (Though I'll still argue with you if you do not properly apply all that physics knowledge. Or even if you do not properly explain the conclusions you're jumping to because the theory's in YOUR head not ours. ) As for the effect under discussion. Mostly in line with what Cullen said, but I would add a few notes of my own. Not only must psi be applied, it must also be converted. The methods behind a telekinetic effect are not known to any great extent. There is the possibility that the explosive force can be applied telekinetically and the visuals can be applied through 'flaring'; however, this would require at least a two part construct, one part to flare one part to apply the actual force of explosion/impact. Even with that there are few individuals experienced enough in Telekinesis to deliver any significant impact for any reason. (Rainsong and I have heard that Annie might possibly be that strong, though I have heard she is much more skilled at Empathy and Telepathy and healing than at Telekinesis. I do not know her so cannot confirm.) Psi does not physically interact with the 5 normal senses without some form of conversion process. It must be converted to visible light through some means or it must telekinetically interact with molecules. The methods of conversion into Telekinesis are also not understood. If Psi 'normally' directly interacted with the physical world, Empathy, Precognition, Telepathy, Remote viewing, Scanning, etc. would all be blocked by or have other issues with intervening physical obstructions (walls, the bulk of the earth when trying to scan places like Australia or Singapore from the US both of which I have done.) If it functioned like Seismic waves it would still interact with and be interfered with by the various layers of the Earth as determined by other factors in its nature. Shear waves (S-Waves, also called Secondary waves), for example, cannot travel through liquids so are stopped at the outer core leaving a 'shadow' where they cannot be picked up by a Seismograph. P-waves (Pressure waves, also sometimes called primary waves) have different rates of travel through liquid and solid, so the time of arrival varies depending on where on the earth you are measuring from. Energy wise the telekinesis may be a possible way to deliver an explosive side. The question becomes what, specifically would you convert psi into and how would you achieve such a conversion. We know we can exert force using psi and we can convert it through some method into light (whether it be actual conversion into electromagnetic radiation in the visible spectrum or be a telekinetic or energetic interaction with the electrons in air molecules.) What would you propose we convert psi into to achieve both affects? ~The Devil’s Advocate

DA, Great post. I couldn't have stated it better myself. And in regards to picking apart my theories: I'd be insulted if you didn't.
Note: I am an intuitive thinker. This means that I conceptualize things and what seems obvious to me, might be obscure to other people. If you have any questions with things that I say or claims I make, please post or PM me. After all, I could be wrong.
Anyway, back on topic: There are definitely a lot of questions about psi interacting with matter going around right now. It would be good to do some experimentation with someone who is proficient in both flaring and TK. If we have some members on the forums now who would be up for some experimentation who are confident in their abilities, then we could try to work out a time to get several people into the chat and see what we can cook up. If not, then we can try to contract Rainsong, Annie or NI (If any of them are around).

I wanted to do this both for fun and it would be a great way to get rid of that mobile home behind my house I was planning on tearing down.
