It is considered very bad form to follow your own post in most circumstances. If you find you have forgotten something look in the upper right corner of the post you will find an 'edit' button, simply click there and make whatever changes or additions you desire and click the 'modify' button. I think you will find it saves you a great deal of grief.
Also, take your time about posting. Given the nature of this site, good grammar and spelling are important, including proper capitalization and punctuation. You will find that your variances are much more effective if you use them sparingly and deliberately.

Thank you for the info. I appreciate it. So like I said, is there a how-to guide out there that helps you get more sensitive or not? Does anyone know how to explain it? PS. How do you get those quotes to go on like that? It seems like I'm the only one that doesn't know how Noone has told me so yeah...

I recomend looking at the buttons and links around each post. Things like 'reply' 'quote' and 'send topic to friend'. The quote button is right next to the edit button.
As for psionic awareness, well how do you learn how to notice more of what you see? One way is to look at a scene, look away, write down what you notice, and look back and see what you missed. I've given several posts about general scanning techniques and they also help build awareness (Scanning's very closely related to awareness. It's the difference between looking intently at someone and just seeing what's around you. The more you work with psi the more your awareness will grow. It's a case of the only way to get better is use it. When you make a psiball, try and see how much detail you can get out of it. It's harder if you don't have a partner to confirm what you're getting, but check what you MEANT to have happen with what you perceive happened.
You'll get better at it, though avoid falling into the trap of second guessing yourself. You need to be VERY honest with yourself when you're sure, not sure, and think your mind may be playing tricks on you.

*nods* Sensitivity often is the result of increased practice with psi. The more you use something the more sensitive you are to it. The more I work with lights in a theatre, the more often I notice when a mistake has been made or a design has come out flawless. It is the same with psionics. The more you are aware of it and understand it and how it is used, the more easily you will detect its use...well, at least that has been my experience and I have heard others say similar things.

Can passive scanning be called awareness?
Just would like to add a little on scanning tips. If you have no backup and double checks on your scans, ad I don't usually, you can scan people in the room. For example, if you are about to walk into a room scan it. See how many people are there and if you can pick up who they are. Then walk in and see if you are correct. I personally do this to double check myself. Because often (by me) my mind plays tricks on me and instead of a scan I get my imagination...
This tip was given to me (somewhere around the forum) by a wonderful person. This is probably the only unbiased way of practicing scanning alone. As far as I am aware of...

Yes, Confuded. Or more accurately, 'awarness' is the passive use of the psionic sense, and scanning is the active use of the psionic sense. Your recomendation is a good one. Though for basics I wouldn't try and go for a specific number to start with. Go with a rough size group.

That's a good idea! I should try that. It is something I haven't really given enough thought to. Campus will be a good place to practice in the summer since # of people in an area is rather unpredictable this time of year.
